Not long after receiving accreditation, Trinity Western University tasked the Adwiz with crafting a new graphic identity. Initially the request had been for a crest like those used by Oxford or Cambridge, but it quickly became apparent that an old-fashioned crest would not be ideal for a new university. New ideas were explored. The final torch logo came from the understanding that education is like an olympic flame, being passed on from one torch-bearer to another without end. The torch itself takes on both the letter T and, because TWU is a Christian university, the image of a cross. The flames form the letter W.
