I am always inspired by young energetic entrepreneurs who have a vision to change the world. When I asked Adam Sheard, president of the Language Arts Institute, to describe his vision for his company, he answered by saying that he wanted to create the best language training school in the world. For the logo I wanted something that could grow with this bold vision. The logo needed to illustrate the worldwide nature of languages and also to hint at the arts aspect of language, something that would look like a work of art. I began with a traditional globe wireframe and the conversational “speech balloon” shapes, trying to blend them into a meaningful pattern. Eventually the continents became blobs that also emulated the speech balloon quality.
